Are Twin Select BIC Razors For Men Any Good?

Regardless of your skin type, most people need to be cautious when shaving. It doesn’t take much before you accidently cut yourself or nick a sensitive area. Disposable razors have always been known to be cheap and only needed for rare occasions but the Twin Blade BIC razors claim to be a good choice for daily use. I’m always in search of a better razor, and so far, nothing has come close to the BIC metal razor.

For a quick understanding of the BIC Twin Select disposable shaver, it looks very similar to their other basic razors. However you will notice that they are green rather than blue or yellow. They also include two blades rather than one, which is now lagging behind the razors with 4 and 5 blades. However, more does not always mean better. The handle and head of the Twin Select are quite basic with no fancy functions. However the handle is longer and the head is a bit slimmer to help shave in places that are difficult.

Again, this is a razor that came out years ago and is becoming more increasingly hard to find. Places like amazon.com are now one of the best places to find them if you cannot find them at your local pharmacy.

A problem with many disposable razors is the fact that they cut your skin easily. While this is also true for this razor, after some practice you shouldn’t have this problem. I think this is a direct result of the design and a bit of the build quality. It seems that even if the blade is a single millimeter off, it will cut you no matter how hard you try to shave properly.

I sometimes like to dull the blade a bit before first use to help cut down on the chances of being cut. Take a sharpening stone and run it across the blades lightly 1 or 2 times. However, you must be careful. Even on their package they state that you should never wipe the blade which is a direct result in people not understanding how sharp and quickly razors can cut.

The BIC single blade razor, BIC Comfort 3 razor, and the Twin Select need to be rinsed quite frequently between shaving passes. I thought that was worth mentioning even though this is s pretty standard issue for most razors, including the newer ones.

It comes in a regular style and a style for sensitive for skin. Either way, they seem to feel exactly the same on my skin and I consider myself to have normal to sensitive skin. If you were using these razors when they first came out then you are probably someone who is going to want to stock up on these. If you have never used it, I would recommend that you find a different razor that can be bought easily since the lifetime of these razors doesn’t look to bright.
